ESS Inc is a SBA-registered, Woman-Owned Small Business that has served domestic aerospace, US Department of Homeland Security, regional emergency managment agency, & commercial business remodeling customers across the United States. ESS Inc has been a home-based S-corporation located in the Pacific Northwest since 2005. ESS Inc provided space systems cost analysis, government proposal development support, independent evaluator support for regional disaster preparedness exercises, and commercial business remodel management services to our valued customers for four years.
Beginning in 2008, there has been: (1) a significant downturn in aerospace and managment services contracting opportunities; (2) reduced local government funding of contractor support services in the public safety sector; and (3) increased business operations costs at ESS Inc. The ESS Inc Board of Directors has decided to close our doors and no longer provide engineering and management services to government agencies and their prime contractors as of January 1, 2010. We will no longer seek government project support contracts.
Our current plan is to take a business sabatical and halt all formal business operations for one year. We will thoughtfully research America's needs and select a new commercial product to offer to the pubic at large. We want to select a commercial product line that will support a renewed American economy. We will select a product line based on documented market demand data.
We will also base our decision to open again or permanently close our business in 2011 with the perceived reinstatement or continued demise of our Constitutional freedoms to trade goods and service. We have noticed increased Federal Government demands on America's private business sectors (increased taxation proposals, redundant federal income and tax payment reporting requirments, micro-management of domestic business operations in pending Congressional bill terms and implementation clauses, and Congressionally-mandated health care plan participation requirments on every level of American business.)
